Therapy for Adults

For the kids at heart.

Play isn’t just for kids. Heal your inner child.

The power of play is that it reconnects us with something many of us lose in childhood: the freedom to imagine, explore, and express without judgment. It opens a doorway to parts of the human experience that adulthood often suppresses, giving us permission to safely engage with vulnerability, creativity, and emotional truth in ways that traditional talk therapy sometimes can’t reach.

Using play in therapy can be a powerful tool for adults because it bypasses the pressure to “perform” or intellectualize emotions. Play taps into creativity, spontaneity, and symbolic expression—allowing adults to access feelings and experiences that may be difficult to articulate with words alone. Whether through storytelling, role-play, art, or games like Dungeons & Dragons, play creates a safe space to explore identity, process trauma, build connection, and try on new ways of being. It helps dissolve shame, fosters joy, and reawakens parts of the self that may have been buried under years of responsibility, grief, or survival. For many adults, play isn’t just helpful—it’s healing.

How therapy with adults works

We believe people heal through creativity, connection, and the power to explore who they are beyond societies expectations.

Therapy with adults works by meeting them where they are—often through the familiar, the imaginative, and the meaningful. Instead of relying solely on traditional talk therapy, therapy with us incorporates elements from pop culture, fandoms, and games like Dungeons & Dragons to help adults access emotions, try on new identities, and explore inner conflicts in a safe and creative way. Through approaches like geek therapy, clients might step into a favorite character's shoes, build a new narrative through role-play, or use storylines from movies, comics, or games as metaphors for their own experiences. This isn't about escapism—it’s about using play as a bridge to deeper self-understanding, healing, and growth. Whether navigating trauma, identity, or emotional stuckness, this kind of therapy creates a space where play becomes powerful, purposeful, and personal.

imagine if…

healing felt less like a chore more like a creative quest

Instead of rehashing the same old narratives, you could explore new ones—through role-play, storytelling, or symbolic games that invite curiosity, not just coping.

Imagine if therapy looked like sitting around a table with dice, laughter, and unexpected breakthroughs.

Using games like Dungeons & Dragons, you could confront fears, rewrite patterns, and build confidence—all while adventuring with your therapist as your guide.

Imagine if your favorite characters, fandoms, or fictional worlds could help you understand your real-life struggles.

Through geek therapy and pop culture references, we use the media you love to explore identity, relationships, and resilience in a way that feels authentic and deeply validating.

I want you to know:

play heals and adults need it too.

Healing doesn’t have to be heavy to be meaningful—and sometimes, imagination says what words can’t.
